This was always my least favourite instalment. Hard to say why, because I usually love all things Wild West. Maybe it’s because my brother and sister always liked this one best and it pains me to be in agreeance with them.
It’s not that this final instalment is any less clever than the first or second one, it’s not that it doesn’t tie in with the others, I just never could love it as much.
I will say that I don’t care for the casting of Clara. No doubt there will be a lot of people out there who disagree, but I just don’t rate Mary Steenburgen as an actress.
I did love Biff in this one, or Beauford as it were, he really nails the whole dirty outlaw, but as I said in the previous posts, I’m developing more of a love for Biff as I get older and the pivotal role he plays in the franchise and Thomas Wilson is just a flat out great character actor.
I can’t help but feel that if Crispin Glover were on board, he might have featured somewhere in this plot, which would have been beautiful, as would a more prominent role from Lea Thompson.
This concludes the marathoning of the movies, but I am sure once we have had time to think on it, both Lauren and I will have more to say.
‘Is this a hold up?
It’s a science experiment.’
